Oh man I probably should have just stayed in fresh water, 😅 but I love my pet corals too much ❤
That harvesting item is so over kill. I hatch brine in 24 hours. No pump, no light, no screw bottle gadget, no net. You should have researched for a an effortless item and saved money. I feel like this is a favor promo ad.
It’s definitely no ad. I’m just explaining how I did it in the past and how I’m about to do it again. I bought all the items you saw.
Man did you just delete my comment?
No. Maybe RUclips hid it? I’ll check.
I can’t find any messages marked spam. 🤷♂️
True
Thank you again for everything you do for the salt water hobby I really appreciate it
I have 2 julii cory turning white. Active & healthy but all their blk marks are almost gone completely. My others seems good except ones whiskers are gone now 😔 I think any endler started this or they came with it 😢 Trying methelyn blue tomorrow
Very good video, it’s probably the most informative one about BTAs you can ever get out there. But one interesting fact is that BTAs never hosts ocellaris and perculas in the wild, rather clarkiis, frenatus ans similar species. So in for personal preference I don’t like putting ocellaris and perculas in BTAs because it just look off to me. Ocellaris and perculas I think would do better in long tentacle anemones, aurora anemone and Stichodactly anemones just to name a few as they do host these anemonefish species in the wild
This is the reason I have a "SCIENCE" decal on the side of my tank over the overflow box/drain area.
"It was August of 2024" How Futuristic of you!
I have this exact generator. I love it. They say its quiet but yeah 😂 i had mine in storage for over 1 year. Had to use it due to outage. Started right up no problems. It does help if you use the pull start to prime the system first. There was a book zip tied to the genny that had this start up procedure. As for each type there is a diffrent process. But generally all the same. Still trying to figure out how i hook this up to my house power box. Via a wire. But i like the setup you have. Any insight on this would be much appricated I get about 8 hours on propane. And 12 hours on gas. Also love the built in co2 detector built into the generator. Shuts itself off if it had a problem with c02 Never knew i had to drain the gasline. Will have to pull it out of storage and do that tonight.
Oneday i noticed my fish were acting funny. Darting around the tank not eating. Just generally acting strang or abnormal behavior for them. I didnt think about it and let the tank be. The next day i found my beloved clarki clown fish dead on the floor. Along with my purple fire fish one was on the floor the other was stuck to the nero 3 and jammed it. I couldnt find a direct reason at the time through visual observation. Come to find out the seal on my heater had let go and was letting live stray current into the tank. Not sure how long it was happening. I noticed because when i stuck my hand in the tank i felt a tingling sensation like i was gettting stung by anemone. I said to myself thats strange. So i starting looking for sorces of the Tingle. Was it bacteria, was it cyano in the water column or some type of dino. Couldnt seem to find a biological reason i was getting this sensation. Eventually started to unplug all my gear one by one. As as soon as i touched the heater i got a strong zap to my fingers that made them cramp up. At that moment i knew i had an issuie. 😂 Moral of the story Check all your gear today! Clean it all 😢 save your fish save your house and family from a disaster ❤ Love the video marc Hope you had a good vacation.
Thanks for sharing your experience, glad you were able to track it down and correct it.
You r making fire pit too much complicated.
Good content ! 1000w heater isn’t 10amps it’s closer to 8 it depends on the voltage of the device P(Watts)= V(voltage) • A (amperage) you can manipulate that formula to find Amperage of a device based on voltage and power draw ! Hope it helps.. also voltage is not the lethal component it’s amperage it only takes 100 milliamps to be lethal it depends.. hope this helps happy reefing !
Amperage is just what happens. He’s right voltage is the issue. As resistance increases the current flow( amperage decreases) voltage is like water pressure in a garden hose. It is there when you need it. The water coming out is the current flow and resistance is the nozzle regulating that .adjust the resistance it will change the amperage, and you will max out at a certain point, but if you increase the water pressure (voltage ) now you have potential to have more water flow (current) in the system.Grab onto 120 V in the house you’re going to have current flow. Now have your wife hose you and grab the same wires. The current flow is multiplied, and you will probably die. Current is the effect , voltage is the issue.
@@wesleybangs I see your point but current is not the effect and voltage is synonymous with the pressure of electricity, current in amps is the measure of how many electrons are flowing therefore it is the factor that is more lethal you can put 12v on your tongue and be completely fine if there’s little to no current.. voltage is the potential difference between two points on a circuit and current is rate of flow of electrons.. I see your point and argument but higher woltages doesn’t mean higher current or number of electrons flowing etc…
Marc - I just installed a soft starter for my 2.5 ton Condenser so I can actually run my A/C from my Generator. It's a HF 8750 generator.
I need to know more!
Marc, Sorry I missed this one. I don't know your broadcast schedule. I haven't forgotten about your rock flower pictures. I just haven't been able to find my Flipper camera/cell phone filter so I've ordered another. When it arrives I'll shoot some pics.
Better late than never Even if the show is already finished
Great episode Marc
The Reefdude dude slurps his coffee on camera as well. It's gross, you should edit that out. Or drink off camera
It’s hard to do everything perfectly. 🙂
i have a 40 gallon tank and have a small HOB maybe 1.5 gallons and it works perfectly fine..
My experience with the Neptune Apex Liquid Level Sensor has been an unmitigated disaster from start to finish. This product is, without a doubt, the worst purchase I have ever made, and I strongly advise anyone considering it to look elsewhere. First and foremost, the product is a complete failure in terms of functionality. The sensor is wildly inaccurate and unreliable. It constantly gives false readings, causing major disruptions in my aquarium’s water levels. The advertised precision and reliability are outright lies. The build quality is abysmal. After just a few weeks of use, the sensor began to malfunction. It’s clear that this product is made with the cheapest materials possible, with zero consideration for durability or longevity. To make matters worse, the calibration process is a nightmare. After hours of struggling with the setup, I was left with a non-functioning sensor. The measurements and interface on this device are designed for engineers, not for regular users. This product is not user-friendly in the slightest, adding to the frustration and inconvenience. The most infuriating aspect is the blatant false advertising. The Neptune Apex Liquid Level Sensor is marketed as a high-precision, reliable product, but in reality, it is a piece of junk that barely functions. This level of deceit is unacceptable and should be illegal. In short, the Neptune Apex Liquid Level Sensor is an overpriced, poorly made, and utterly useless product. The deceptive marketing practices of this company are downright criminal. Save yourself the frustration, time, and money - avoid this product and this company at all costs.
I can't open his Instagram. Did he delete it?
I think so
Yup, it is excellent. Just had to adjust my lower wheel
Great video Marc. Informative and surprisingly quite calming.
Hi Marc, do you still make the perforated lid for the 2 gal bucket, are they available for purchase?
Yes, I can still make these. I’ll get one added to the website soon.
Add phyto daily. Always helps with dinos
I have some arriving in the morning.
Marc, don't forget that the launch also has the 4 drive ports that you can use to power 12volt devices and is the only unit with a salinity port other than the x10
dont you have another tank that you havent set up yet? i seem to remember another one....and when is the anemone cube coming back?
Yes and yes. This one fell into my lap last Sunday and since the livestock needed to be cared for, I had to get it situated.
How many gallons was this tank?
It’s 50 g I think
Hey Mark, thanks for sharing and for your time, much appreciated sir.
Hey, I appreciate actually seeing you break down a tank in real time. My husband and I are hoping to move in the next year or so, which means my tank will be moving with us. This gives me some assurance that I can do it!
Let me know if you have any questions.
DI water at pH of 9 means something is contaminating it. Pure water has zero buffering capacity so it’s very easy to change it’s pH with very little contamination.
Great conversation, thank you for doing this every week
@matc you shows are great. BUT when have a guest, please be careful you Don't talk over them and give them enough air time to fully express their opinions. Please rewatch this stream with Rich, you will notice that he had a lot that he couldn't communicate
Agreed, usually I’m better about that. Oops!
@marc BTW, I have been reefing now for 14 years now. Following you and you content on this amazing Channel is what got me to where I am now. Thanks Man.
pH of DI water is silly. How do you measure hydrogen ions in water that has been de-ionized?
You should ask Fritz to send you some red boxes instead of blue next time - maybe you can stop having to buffer your new saltwater.
I would like to see the test kits we use...used at a reef in the ocean. Ph, phosphates, etc...
Hope the community made it through transport ok. :)
Yup, all is well. Got it set up in my living room last night.
So y did you get this tank?
You made it 50 seconds longer than me!
If you want to see high pH check out Chummingham’s reef
So air through your skimmer does oxygenate your system!?
Farley would be a great addition to your stream as well what do you think Marc I do consider him a guru not that bulk reef supply guy that says he is a guru not one bit anyhow sidetracked sorry Farley yes good addition to guest speak on your stream ✌️
rich all points spot on !
or crank the ac and open doors !
New coral frag right on top of the dead coral will fix that right up 😂
always been between 8.1 to 8.3 and never worried about it at all !! It goes dn at least on probes during low pressure storm rain weather too !!
one day of kalk and make fresh daily is only way.
would dripping muriatic also work in iv bag ?
I think we'll be better off if we focused on reducing the pH drop at night ather than increasing the pH high during peak.
Hard-pass, see u next week!
Newbie here... is pH different than Phosphate?
Yes two different things
